So, it's been a while since I posted on here. I just got lazy. Nothing very exciting has happened in the last few weeks. Leia came to visit again- way fun! She had to leave too soon though. I'm trying to get ready to go to Sierra Leone. There's so much to do when you're going to be out of the country for a month. I started another blog just for my trip so that I could give the address to all kinds of people supporting me from home. The address is lindsayinsierraleone.blogspot.com, so check it out. I tried sushi tonight. Val and I went to Sakura. I liked it except for having to stuff a whole slice in my mouth at once. Having my mouth so full made it a little gross, but overall I liked it.
I've been babysitting so much lately. I watched kids Thursday, yesterday and I'm babysitting today and tomorrow too. It's okay. I'm getting rich $20 at a time! Last night one of the girls (Briley, the 7yr old) I watched sleepwalks really badly. At about 1 Am I woke up and she was crying and I couldn't find her. I finally figured out she was in the pantry with the door closed, but she wouldn't let me open the door. She said she'd wet herself and made me get her some extra underwear before she would let me see her. I checked her bed and it wasn't wet so I figured she was just having a dream and hadn't really wet the bed. I finally got her out of the pantry and realized that she'd peed all over the pantry floor (plus a stool, a bag of trash and some water bottles). It's crazy what you can do in your sleep and have no way of stopping yourself! Well, I'm about to go babysit again. I miss having Norm around to take care of all these kids.

Monday is a good day
Today was a really good day, especially for a Monday. I went to the dentist-- no cavities!! I went running at Cyprus Groves nature trail-- no raccoons!! Last time I was there a gang of hungry raccoons followed me and I'm pumped that didn't happen again. It was pretty there- the trees are really pretty- in color AND structure :) and it was warm today.
I talked to Dr. Al (my boss) today about going to Sierra Leone. He is the only person on earth more excited than I am about me going to Africa. He's from Ethiopia and he's just really excited about people caring about Africa. He was talking about how to really be helpful in Africa, but I think it pretty much applies anywhere:
~You don't need to think big to make a difference, think about the small things you can do. Take off your big American hat and put on a small one. Think about what you can do with what they have. They use gourds for lots of things; think- how can I improve the quality of life using this gourd. This is how people become famous in Africa, they do small things and then other places want them to do the small things there and these new things spread and the quality of life is better in a wide area.~
I'm really thankful to be working for someone who is so understanding of me taking a month off, much less someone who is glad I'm taking extra time off.
My Thanksgiving holiday starts tomorrow. We head to Ohio to stay with my dad's family. I'm excited about hangin out with the fam!

The Failed Video :(
So I tried to put a video of Norm and Leia and me on this page, but the video was apparently too big for the page to handle. Who would have thought this site wouldn't support a whole memory card full of goofing off? So I guess we all get to keep our dignity a little longer. That's really too bad.

Leia's Here
This weekend Leia is here in Jackson. Yesterday Leia, Norm and I went to Milan. We had Chow Wagon and went to the West Tennessee Agriculture Museum. (A special thanks to the two of them for being willing to humor me on this one!) We went to the park and took fun pictures then to the Milan Ritz theatre. We saw Game Plan- not the best, but fun anyway. The 3 of us + Blair went to Perkins-- always a good time.
